Willy and Helen Luksenburg were kind enough to share their experiences in the Holocaust. It’s an amazing tale that we’re lucky enough to have on record. Please don’t expect much in the way of comedy. This interview was recorded in August of 2011. The sound isn’t great because I was recording it with Audacity just using my laptop. Still, I think it’s an important thing to hear.

At the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC, they ask each guest to take a booklet to accompany them on their visit. Each of these booklets is a story of a man or woman, boy or girl who lived during the holocaust. Some of the stories are of people who survived. Most are of people who died. These are the booklets designated to the stories of Willy and Helen. They were kind enough to loan them to me so I could scan them.

bad audio quality, but it’s worth it.
I listened to the whole thing.
Sorry it is unrelated to the content, but: “The sound isn’t great because I was recording it with Audacity just using my laptop.”
What do you use now if you don’t mind me asking?
LOL that lady has absolutely no patience at all with with ari
Wow. This interview is sincerely moving. Thanks for posting, Ari.
I have to admit; I couldn’t listen to the whole autistic bro interview because I didn’t really agree with a lot of the shit you and your guest were saying…I kinda thought “do I really need to listen to this insensitive schmuck talk about handicapped people??? There are a lot of other podcasts out there…” And then, BOOM, you come right back with this fucking amazing piece of humanity.
I might not get all of your humor; but I definitely felt your compassion on this one.
Thanks again.
Thanks so much for recording this and especially thanks to Willy and Helen. Their story is important and will always be relevant. Everyone should listen.
a sad but powerful episode Ari. people need to hear these stories
